The emulsified asphalt used in micro-surfacing construction is BCR emulsified asphalt. Cationic emulsified asphalt has good adhesion to stone. Micro-surfacing construction requires mixing. The emulsified asphalt uses a cationic slow-cracking and fast-setting asphalt emulsifier and adds a polymer modifier to prepare a modified mixing emulsified asphalt.

The most common early damage to asphalt pavement is cracks and potholes. Pothole repair is one of the important contents of daily maintenance and repair of asphalt pavement. The traditional hot-mix asphalt mixture repair method (hot patching method) is not suitable for scattered or small potholes in practice.
